March 11 "Who Knew?"

Today’s theme is Who Knew?
Who knew that students can learn four addition chants in about twelve minutes and apply them too!
Who knew that after not having class all week, the women in English class would still remember their parts from the field trip on Monday, and prove to be great actors at charades!
Who knew that I would get to hold baby M again while T played with her as our students finished up writing. J
Who knew that Ch would let the newspaper seller ride in the pickup right behind me into town for free. It’s a common thing here, but never in a vehicle I’ve been in!
Who knew that after going to the Immigration Office three times this week and jumping through all their hoops and coming back when they told us to, that we would still not have our business visas for the remainder of the trip. I certainly hope that everything gets figured out before we head out of the country to Malawi or Zimbabwe!
Who knew that when there are flat bed trucks stuffed full with people in the back that they are part of a funeral procession. After learning this, T and I felt bad that we were always pointing them out…
Who knew that a Zambian version of a DQ Blizzard with chocolate chunks and mint sauce would cure my craving for a Shamrock Shake. I miss them.
Who knew that while walking from one mall to the next for a movie that we would be noticed while walking on the street (as the only whiteys) by Mr. D&D driving back in his truck. He offered us a ride back to campus, how nice! However, we had plans for a movie. J
Who knew that I could buy a stop at the car park, lunch, ice cream, a movie, popcorn, a dress, a tank top, a mini bus ride, and dinner for about $40 in Zambia. Love it!
Who knew that Pastor and Mrs. H would be coming in today from Livingstone to pick up a dryer. It made plans for Vic Falls easy to make! And it was fun to go out to eat with them, D&D, L&N, and T&I.
Who knew that Zambians love chicken as much as I do. At Manda Hill Mall, there are three chicken only places. And we happened to eat at two of them today. A chicken pita at Galito’s and a pine burger (chicken sandwich with pineapple and a pineapple Fanta) at Nando’s. I heart chicken and pineapple. Yum.
Who knew that I would have messages when I got home! To play piano for church on Sunday and a list of Nyanja words so that we can increase our phrases we know to more than five!
Who knew that it would be such a fun and exciting end to a busy week! Can’t wait for a relaxing weekend!
