Sunday means church. Today our choir was gone to sing at another church, but the service was beautiful as usual. The children sang a few songs. The sermon really hit me when Pastor M was talking about Jesus’ transfiguration and how he took his three closest friends and if he did that today, would I be one of them? It was a really good message. And we got Holy Communion for the first time since we left the States, so that was great, too. The people don’t really go up in any order. You just kind of go when you want to, but otherwise it was still the same as home. Actually, this church did communion more similar to how I had learned it at St. Matt’s than I do at St. Marcus now!
After church, T and I chilled out and read. So off course I finished the to-do list. Yes, I did just start it on Thursday, but it was a good read. J After our lunch of tuna sandwiches, mango, crackers, and guava juice, it was time to crack down and plan for this week, in particular Monday. We may or may not have come up with addition chants that are pretty rockin to get our kids quicker on their addition facts. Monday will be interesting because we have to a) switch our tutoring and English class times, b) run a field trip thing for SB’s class when they come at 8:30 in the morning and set it up and the ladies and T and I were just informed yesterday, c) renew our visas, and d) make it back in time to teach preschool. But the planning went well enough. J
In the afternoon while T was skyping, I took about the HUMUNGOUS and BEAUTIFUL grass mat and laid out in the sun to read the actual 1277 item to do list at the end of the to do list. Finally, after being here a month, I actually look tan. Thank you, Zambian sun! J And yes, while the majority of my readers are wary of a coming snowstorm in the next few days, according to the Internet, I will be enjoying low 80 degree weather for the next two weeks. J
The rest of the day was pretty normal. Did many normal things that I could also do in Milwaukee, and will therefore, refrain from telling you about. But, it was a very normal day.
